Overview

The 2025 edition of Emmerich im Lichterglanz took place on July 26 — promenade festival from 4 PM, stage program from 5 PM, musically synchronized fireworks around 11 PM over the Rhine. Several tens of thousands of visitors came from the Lower Rhine region and neighboring Netherlands.

Emmerich im Lichterglanz 2025 was held on Saturday, July 26, by the WfG Emmerich and the City of Emmerich on the Rhine promenade and in the Rhine park. Admission was free; the festival grounds opened at 4:00 PM.

From 5:00 PM, the stage program ran along the promenade with live bands and solo artists in pop, rock, and Schlager. Food trucks and stalls offered potato pancakes, Lower Rhine and Dutch specialties, cocktails, and drinks. Several shipping companies organized special trips with buffet, DJ, and champagne reception on board.

The pyrotechnic highlight, as in previous years, was the musically synchronized fireworks around 11:00 PM, launched from the middle Rhine arm and lasting over twenty minutes. With the widest point of the German Rhine as its natural stage, the fireworks are among the most highly regarded on the entire Lower Rhine.
