Recurring flea market at Schützenplatz Bleckede — six dates from May to October 2026
Instead of a single large market day, the Elbe Flea Market Bleckede opts for a recurring format with multiple dates spread throughout the season. Six Saturdays from May to October 2026 allow regular visitors to incorporate the market days into their weekend plans. The venue is the large Schützenplatz Bleckede — with ample space for several dozen stalls, parking for vendors and visitors, and an attractive location near the Elbe river and Bleckede Castle.
The range of goods is typical for established flea markets: vintage fashion from several decades, antiques from porcelain to furniture, records, books, typewriters, old tools, jewelry, watches, glassware, children's toys, household items, and entire household clearances. Some vendors are professional dealers from northern Lower Saxony and the Hamburg area, while others are private sellers from Bleckede and the region clearing out their attics.
The market runs on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Setup for vendors begins as early as 7 a.m. — early birds can make the first selections. The main visiting time is, as experience shows, late morning and early afternoon. Stall fees are charged for vendors — the exact conditions can be inquired about from the organizer Andreas Mensing.
Bleckede, with its Elbe Castle, the Biosphaerium Elbtalaue, and its location on the Elbe Cycle Route, is one of the most attractive excursion destinations in the southeastern district of Lüneburg. Many visitors to the flea market combine their market visit with a walk along the Elbe, a visit to the castle, or a bike tour. The regular market days are part of the town's summer event calendar.
The repetition throughout the season allows vendors to cater to regular customers, and visitors to incorporate the market days into their weekend plans. On each market day, around 30 to 60 stalls are spread across the large Schützenplatz. The market days attract visitors not only from Bleckede and the immediate vicinity but also from Lüneburg, Lauenburg, and the Hamburg area.
Each of the six market days in 2026 follows the same proven daily structure:
