Overview
The 27th season of the Ekhof Festival once again presented concerts, plays, and opera in the historic Ekhof Theatre at Friedenstein Castle in 2025. In cooperation with the Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha-Eisenach, baroque and classical works were on the programme – each performed in front of the original baroque stage machinery.
The 2025 season continued the festival's established concept: a mix of rediscoveries of Gotha composers (primarily Georg Anton Benda), central works of the Baroque and Viennese Classicism periods, and acting performances in the unique baroque theatre setting. The festival once again attracted visitors from Thuringia, Saxony, Hesse, and all over Germany, confirming its status as a cultural highlight of the city of Gotha and its district.
