Overview
In 2025, the nationwide Ehrentag had not yet taken place. The German Foundation for Engagement and Volunteerism prepared for the premiere in 2026, including concept development and recruitment of participating federal states and municipalities.
Before the Premiere
The Ehrentag as a nationwide day of action was first announced by the German Foundation for Engagement and Volunteerism for 2026. Throughout 2025, preparations were made: site selection in the federal states, recruitment of participating clubs, press campaign, and conceptualization of local festivals. Potsdam, with the Waschhaus, was selected in spring 2026 as the central Brandenburg event.
