Overview

The Egerer Pilgrimage to Marienweiher 2025 again spanned three days and approximately 75 kilometers from Eger/Cheb in the Czech Republic to the Marienweiher Basilica of Pilgrimage. Pilgrims from Germany and the Czech Republic walked the historic route together, following the tradition from 1745.

In 2025, the Egerer Pilgrimage to Marienweiher again took place around the Feast of the Nativity of Mary. In the tradition revived since 2010, believers from Germany and the Czech Republic journeyed together for approximately 75 kilometers over three days, from Eger/Cheb in Bohemia to the Marienweiher Basilica of Pilgrimage in the Franconian Forest.

The pilgrimage concluded with the solemn reception of pilgrims and a pilgrimage service in the Basilica minor Marienweiher, in front of which the historic Egerer Pilgrimage Banner from 1745 still hangs today. The pilgrimage once again underscored its character as a symbol of cross-border understanding between Bavaria and Bohemia.
