Overview

The Dumbächer Kirwa 2025 took place from August 15 to 17 on the Turnerplatz Kirchenthumbach. With Kirwabaum raising on Friday, open-air band concerts and dance evening on Saturday, and traditional Austanzen, Kirwagstanzla, and Berg-Kraxler demonstrations on Sunday. The festival tent was filled to capacity on all days.

The Dumbächer Kirwa 2025 was celebrated by the Kirwaverein Kirchenthumbach from August 15th to 17th on the Turnerplatz. The Kirwabaum was traditionally raised on Friday evening with lever poles — a discipline that requires not only strength but also skill.

On Saturday, the band Gseea Wepsn heated up the atmosphere in the festival tent. Sunday also offered the tried-and-tested program: festival service, Frühschoppen with the Dumbächer Blaskapelle, in the afternoon the traditional Austanzen of the Kirwa couples with their Kirwagstanzla (humorous mocking verses about local events) and Berg-Kraxler acrobatics on the Kirwabaum.

The proceeds of the festival, as is traditional, went to local social projects in 2025 — the First Responders Kirchenthumbach and flood victims were supported, among others. Several thousand visitors came to the Turnerplatz over the weekend; the festival tent was filled to capacity on all evenings.
