Overview

The 49th Duisburger Filmwoche 2025 continued the tradition: documentaries from D/A/CH at the filmforum Dellplatz, intensive discussions after each screening, ARTE and 3sat Documentary Film Prizes. Preparations for the 50th anniversary in 2026 were already a central theme in the previous year.

The 2025 edition once again demonstrated why the Duisburger Filmwoche holds a unique place in the German-language documentary film landscape. Seven days of film programming, with each film followed by an in-depth discussion between filmmakers, critics, and the audience. The ARTE and 3sat Documentary Film Prizes were awarded in the traditional setting.
