Overview

The 14th edition of drumherum took place at Pentecost 2024 (May 16–20) in Regen. As with every festival year, the entire town center was transformed for five days into an accessible landscape of sound and crafts with around 650 music groups, tens of thousands of visitors, and continuous tavern music. drumherum is celebrated every two years; 2026 follows 2024.

drumherum 2024 in Retrospect

With an opening gala, crafts market, international folk music fair, and a packed tavern program, the 2024 festival once again confirmed its status as one of Europe's most important folk music festivals. The program included concerts from across the Alpine region (Bavaria, Tyrol, South Tyrol, Switzerland) as well as from Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

Tradition and Innovation

In 2024, the festival again focused on mixing generations: Stubenmusi seniors played alongside young hammered dulcimer ensembles, traditional dances met experimental crossover projects. The Wirtshausakademie attracted numerous young musicians from across the German-speaking world to Regen.
