Edition 2025 — Dorffest Obersöchering
The Obersöchering village festival 2025 took place, as always, on the Assumption Day holiday, August 15. The Obersöchering costume association organized the traditional village festival with a festive church service, costume parade, and catering in the festival tent – one of the central social events of the Upper Bavarian Pfaffenwinkel community.
The 2025 edition followed the annually maintained tradition: a festive church service with herb blessing in the morning, a costume parade through the village, and festival activities in the afternoon and evening. The costume association, supported by volunteers from several generations, organized the catering and the folk entertainment program.
Such Marian festivals on August 15 particularly shape village life in the Upper Bavarian Pfaffenwinkel – the combination of a religious holiday and simultaneous summer festival culture is a regional peculiarity. Obersöchering reliably continues this tradition.
