In 2025, the DomStufen-Festspiele Erfurt once again attracted around 75,000 visitors to Cathedral Square. In front of the backdrop of St. Mary's Cathedral and St. Severus Church, the Erfurt Theatre presented an elaborate open-air production, reaffirming the festival's reputation as one of Central Germany's most important summer highlights.
The 2025 DomStufen season continued the tradition of elaborate open-air productions, filling Cathedral Square with music, dance, and medieval atmospheric lighting for four weeks. With each performance, Cathedral Square transformed into one of Germany's largest open-air stages. The festival solidified its position as a cultural flagship for Thuringia's state capital and a key economic driver for Erfurt's summer tourism.
