Overview

The 68th edition of DOK Leipzig took place in late October / early November 2025 — again with three competitions (International Documentary, International Animated, German Competition), the DOK Co-Pro Market, and the Doc Alliance Award for emerging European filmmakers. Around 200 films from around the world were presented in Leipzig cinemas.

68th Edition 2025

The 68th edition of DOK Leipzig in autumn 2025 showcased current international documentary and animated filmmaking for a week. Three competitions, retrospective series, thematic sections, and the Young DOK for children and young people attracted thousands of cinephiles and industry professionals to Leipzig.

The parallel DOK Industry, with the Co-Pro Market, Animation Lab, DOK Exchange XR, and Doc Together program, once again confirmed the festival's importance as a central platform for author-driven documentary and animated projects in the German-speaking region.
