Doberan Abbey Days

The 2025 Doberan Abbey Days brought together scientists and monastery enthusiasts from September 19 to 21, 2025, in Doberan Abbey and on the monastery grounds. The guiding theme »Charity and Mercy in the Cistercian Monastery« was at the center of the event. Stefanie Drese, Minister of Social Affairs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, was the patron.

The opening on Friday evening featured a concert with the Berlin vocal ensemble VOX NOSTRA: medieval Cistercian chants in Doberan Abbey (€15 adults, free for under 18s). Saturday included a full-day conference in the community center of the Evangelical Lutheran Church with lectures on medieval monastic hospitality, contemporary charitable work, and guided chapel tours. On Sunday, a church service followed by a guided tour of historical care facilities concluded the weekend. The organizer was the Klosterverein Doberan e.V.
