Detmolder Schützenfest — 425th Anniversary

Detmolder Schützenfest 2024

The 2024 edition was the last regular Detmold Schützenfest before the 2025 festival cancellation. With Zapfenstreich on the market square, a grand parade through Detmold's city center, and a ball in the Ameide, the festival followed the traditional three-day schedule. At the king's proclamation, the winner of the king's shooting received the title of king — who then, due to the 2025 festival cancellation, reigned longer than the usual one-year term. With the transition to the 2026 anniversary festival, the king's rotation will be changed to a three-year term of office to stabilize the festival rhythm.
