Overview

The 9th edition of the dazz Festival ran from January 10th to 19th, 2025, as a ten-day winter jazz marathon in Darmstadt. With over 30 events at the established venues Centralstation, Bessunger Knabenschule, Jazzinstitut, HoffArt-Theater, and Kultur Club Sumpf, the festival confirmed its reputation as the most important winter date in the South Hesse jazz calendar.

In 2025, the festival again followed its proven concept of decentralized venues. The format of concert + dance class (HoffArt-Theater, Sunny Side Swing Studio), dinner concerts (Künstlerkeller), and gallery vernissages (Jazzinstitut) has become a hallmark. The tradition of children's concerts on the festival Sunday was also continued in 2025.

Programme

Concerts by contemporary and classic jazz acts at ten venues in Darmstadt's city center. Centralstation as the main stage, complemented by the Jazzinstitut, Bessunger Knabenschule, HoffArt-Theater, Künstlerkeller, Kultur Club Sumpf, and Agora am Ostbahnhof.
