Concert, Theatre, and Cabaret Series in Dahn and the Dahner Felsenland from March to November with 13 Events at Various Venues
The Dahner Summer Games are spread throughout the year – from an opening concert in March to the finale in late autumn. The 13 dates in 2026 alternate between classical music, rock and pop, dialect theatre, comedy, and spoken word theatre, utilising the cultural diversity of venues throughout the Felsenland. This makes the Summer Games one of the most prominent cultural series in the West Palatinate, attracting both locals and visitors to the region.
One of the highlights of the Summer Games are the performances at Alt-Dahn Castle. The striking, three-part rock castle above the Dahn valley provides a unique open-air backdrop in the summer, which the Chawwerusch Theater uses annually for Palatinate dialect plays. For 2026, the Chawwerusch guest performance is scheduled for August 21st.
The season begins on March 20, 2026, with the traditional opening concert "Rock meets Classics", which combines a classical orchestra with a rock band. On April 19th, Young Classics follows with emerging musicians. In the autumn, the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, one of the region's most important stages, will be a guest in Dahn on November 21st. In between, there are cabaret evenings, concerts by regional bands, theatre guest performances, and a family programme.
The Summer Games are organised by the association Dahner Sommerspiele e.V., with support from the town of Dahn, the Dahner Felsenland municipal association, and numerous sponsors. Ticket prices are moderate, and many concerts and performances are available through advance booking at reservix.de and at the tourist information centres of the Felsenland. Association members receive discounted rates.
The 2026 season of the Dahner Summer Games spans eight months and fully utilises the cultural diversity of the Dahner Felsenland. In spring, the focus is on major concerts, while summer is dominated by open-air events at Alt-Dahn Castle, and autumn and late autumn are dedicated to cabaret and spoken word theatre. The combination of established guest performances and regional productions ensures a varied programme for a diverse audience.
