Overview

The 2025 edition of the #dabei Open Air took place as part of the first major Island Festival '200 Years of Museum Island' and, together with the supporting program of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, attracted over 55,000 visitors to Berlin's Museum Island. Choirs from the Berlin Choir Association presented their diversity in the Kolonnadenhof — from classical mixed voices to modern pop and gospel formats. Free admission, open-air, right in the heart of Berlin-Mitte. This edition prepared for the major anniversary year 2026 for the 125-year-old Berlin Choir Association.

The 2025 edition continued the established format: curated short performances by several Berlin choirs in the Kolonnadenhof, integrated into the grand Island Festival program. The combination of choral representation and the broad public attendance of the Museum Island Festival ensured high visibility for the Berlin choral scene. The Berlin Choir Association used this edition to publicly launch its 125th anniversary in 2026 — the 2026 edition was specifically planned as a highlight of the anniversary year. The open community sing-along remained an integral part of the program, strengthening the participatory aspect that has characterized the #dabei format since its inception.
