5th Christopher Street Day Wesermarsch — colourful festival for diversity and tolerance in Nordenham, from 1 PM in the city centre
The Christopher Street Day Wesermarsch is the annual demonstration and festival of the LGBTIQ+ community in the Wesermarsch region. With Nordenham as the central venue, the CSD has become a fixture since 2022, attracting attention far beyond the city and district borders. In 2026, the association will celebrate its 5th edition — an anniversary that underscores the success of its still young history.
The CSD combines two concerns: Firstly, the political statement for equal rights, against discrimination, and for the visibility of queer lifestyles in a predominantly rural region. Secondly, the communal celebration, where queer and allied people from Wesermarsch and beyond come together.
From 1 PM, the CSD parade will form in Nordenham city centre. With trucks, music, flags, and banners, the procession will move through the inner city. Afterwards, the stage programme on the central square will open: political speeches, live music, drag performances, and contributions from local actors will shape the afternoon and evening.
An initiative and club mile offers queer initiatives, counselling centres, political parties, churches, and solidarity organisations the opportunity to present themselves. A family programme with a children's area, face painting, and musical contributions makes the CSD a festival for all generations.
For Wesermarsch, the CSD is an important signal: Queer life exists not only in Berlin, Cologne, or Hamburg, but also in a city like Nordenham and its rural surroundings. With its work, CSD Wesermarsch e.V. makes a significant contribution to regional diversity and awareness-raising.
For its 5th edition, CSD Wesermarsch e.V. once again invites queer and allied people from the entire region to the centre of Nordenham. The exact programme items and speeches will be published by the association in the spring. The combination of a political rally, a parade through the city centre, and a multi-hour stage programme is confirmed.
Alliance partners from politics, church, business, and civil society will accompany the event as participants or stand exhibitors in the initiative mile.
The exact 2026 programme will be published by CSD Wesermarsch e.V. in the spring. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
