Overview
The Cottbus Christmas Market of 1000 Stars 2025 opened on November 24 with the traditional Stollen cutting ceremony and shaped the city center for a month. 1000+ Herrnhut stars, the 14-meter tree, the pyramid, the Ferris wheel, and the ice rink attracted visitors from Brandenburg, Saxony, and Poland.
The 2025 Christmas Market of 1000 Stars kicked off the season with the traditional Stollen cutting ceremony at its opening on November 24, 2025. For over four weeks, the market characterized the Cottbus city center between Altmarkt, Spremberger Straße, and Berliner Platz. The striking light installation of over 1000 Herrnhut stars in Cottbus's red and white colors, the 14-meter-high Christmas tree on the Altmarkt, the three-story pyramid, the accessible Ferris wheel, and the ice rink at Blechen Carré were once again among the attractions. Sorbian accents, regional artisans, and the usual mulled wine and Stollen offerings made Cottbus once again one of the most important pre-Christmas destinations in the Niederlausitz in 2025.
