Edition 2025 — Fairy Tale Castle Christmas Colditz
The 26th Colditz Fairy Tale Castle Christmas took place on December 6th and 7th, 2025, and, as every year, attracted thousands of visitors from the Mulde Valley, Leipzig, and Chemnitz. Stalls in the castle courtyard, arts and crafts in the vaulted cellars, Mother Hulda, Santa Claus, fairy tale readings, and puppet shows characterized the two festival days. At nightfall, the Renaissance castle shone in festive lighting — one of Saxony's most enchanting Advent atmospheres.
26th Edition 2025
On December 6th and 7th, 2025, the 26th Fairy Tale Castle Christmas took place at Colditz Castle. The event — held every year on the first Advent weekend since 2000 — offered, as usual, stalls in the castle courtyard with bratwurst, stollen, and mulled wine, arts and crafts in the vaulted cellars, Mother Hulda and Santa Claus for the children, fairy tale readings in the castle chapel, and a stage program with local choirs.
At nightfall, the Renaissance castle shone in festive lighting — creating the image that makes the Fairy Tale Castle Christmas one of Saxony's most atmospheric Advent events. The 2025 edition laid the groundwork for the 27th edition in 2026.
