Overview

Comeback edition after a two-year break: five concert evenings at Gendarmenmarkt with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin under Joana Mallwitz, Gregory Porter, Giovanni Zarrella with his 'Versione Classica', and Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov.

After a two-year hiatus, Classic Open Air returned to Gendarmenmarkt in the summer of 2025. For five evenings, the festival spanned the repertoire – a classical orchestral program to open with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin under Joana Mallwitz, followed by soul with Gregory Porter, Italian pop classics with Giovanni Zarrella, and a highly acclaimed opera evening with the soprano-tenor duo Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov.

The 2025 edition also marked the transition to the current format: a continuous six-day festival on the square, featuring grandstands, new stage technology, and a program that consistently blends classical music with pop and crossover. Its success paved the way for the even broader 2026 edition.
