Overview
The 36th Christmas Pottery Market at Thurnau Castle took place in December 2025. As in previous years, numerous master pottery businesses presented their works in the castle courtyards with free admission – an established highlight of the Advent season in Franconian Switzerland.
For the 36th edition in 2025, over 50 ceramic artists once again offered functional ceramics, garden ceramics, sculptures, unique pieces, and jewelry in the courtyards of Thurnau Castle. The traditional Advent weekend attracted ceramics enthusiasts from all over Germany. Admission was free, and the 1-Euro ceramic raffle benefited the Friends of the Thurnau Pottery Museum. In the same year, pottery craftsmanship was added to the national register of intangible UNESCO cultural heritage.
