Overview

The 42nd edition of the Christmas market at the Gedächtniskirche ran from November 24, 2025, to January 4, 2026. Over a million visitors in six weeks, more than 100 stalls, light carpet by Andreas Boehlke. For the first time, an expanded area for children's carousels and family activities complemented the classic market section. Hirschstube remained a popular destination with its game and tarte flambée menu.

The 42nd edition in 2025/2026 seamlessly continued the tradition established in the eighties. It opened on November 24, 2025, with a church service and subsequent market opening ceremony; it closed on January 4, 2026.

The season was marked by mixed weather with several mild weeks in December; however, the public remained loyal in record numbers. Special days included the mulled wine evening for the benefit of Berliner Tafel (December 10, 2025) and the family weekend on the 2nd Advent Sunday.

Christmas Eve closed at 2 p.m., on December 25th and 26th, operations started at 1 p.m. New Year's Eve closed at 8 p.m., and on New Year's Day, it opened at 1 p.m.
