The 23rd edition of the Castle Rock Festival in 2025 once again gathered the Gothic/Darkwave/Metal scene at Schloß Broich Mülheim. Headliners and emerging artists of the dark music genres performed over two festival days in the historic castle setting — the penultimate Castle Rock before the festival's announced end in 2026.
The 2025 edition once again confirmed Castle Rock's reputation as one of West Germany's most important dark music festivals. Castle backdrop, curated lineup, loyal scene community. The organizers subsequently announced that the festival would be held for the last time in 2026 — a decision that resonated widely within the scene.
