Overview

In 2025, the Carl Orff Festival Andechs once again dedicated itself to the composer's stage works at the foot of the Holy Mountain. In the Florian-Stadl of Andechs Monastery, the Bavarian Philharmonic under Mark Mast performed Orff's music theatre — in the festival's typical fusion of monastery culture, sound, and theatre.

The 2025 festival continued the annual tradition of keeping Carl Orff's work alive at the place the composer wished to be his final resting place. In the Florian-Stadl, the converted hay barn at the foot of the Holy Mountain, the Bavarian Philharmonic, conducted by Mark Mast, presented Orff's stage and choral works. As in previous years, the festival combined the unique atmosphere of the Andechs pilgrimage monastery with Orff's world theatre, attracting visitors from the entire Munich region and the Lake Ammersee area. Specific program details for the 2025 edition are not fully documented; the festival followed the established concept of a stage work in the Florian-Stadl and accompanying concerts.
