Overview

The Calwer Klostersommer 2025 took place, as is traditional, at the end of July and beginning of August in the St. Peter and Paul monastery ruins in Hirsau. Ten concert evenings with a mix of tribute bands, singer-songwriter classics, German pop, and classical crossover programs against the backdrop of the medieval ruins — one of the most atmospheric open-air concert series in the Black Forest.

Klostersommer 2025

In the summer of 2025, the St. Peter and Paul monastery ruins in Hirsau once again opened their Romanesque walls for the Calwer Klostersommer. Ten concert evenings featuring tribute bands, singer-songwriter stars, German pop, and classical crossover made it the summer highlight of Calw's event calendar. Thousands of visitors from the Black Forest, the Stuttgart region, the Pforzheim area, and the wider region came to the medieval setting.

As always, the festival concluded with the magnificent Kloster in Flammen concert: a symphony orchestra performed a classical-symphonic program, followed by a grand fireworks display in the ruins. One of the most spectacular open-air experiences of the Southern German summer — a tradition that will return in 2026 with the Frankfurt Philharmonic Orchestra.
