Overview

In 2025, the historic Burghof-Fest also took place at Stolpen Castle. With reenactment scenes of the 1632 siege, skirmishes, sutlers, and horse demonstrations, the spectacle thrilled thousands of visitors on the first weekend of the Saxon summer holidays. The time-limited staging of the Thirty Years' War remained a popular event in the Saxon calendar.

Burghof-Fest 2025

In the summer of 2025, Stolpen Castle once again transformed into a living historical backdrop. Reenactment groups from all over Saxony and beyond made the castle courtyard come alive — with skirmishes, camp life, sutlers, and the rough customs of the Thirty Years' War, all staged with a wink and humor.

Families, history enthusiasts, and day-trippers from Dresden and Saxon Switzerland took the opportunity to experience the 1632 siege firsthand. Horses, swords, bagpipes, and campfires characterized the castle for two days.
