Edition 2025 — Vilseck Castle Festival
In 2025, the 2nd Vilseck Castle Festival performed a historical play written especially for Vilseck in the courtyard of Dagestein Castle. Directed by Bernhard Neumann; the author was Gerda Stauner. Organizer: Town of Vilseck with the Vilseck City Theatre. The success of the 2nd edition paved the way for the 3rd edition in 2026 with the play about Joseph Eilles.
Already in 2024 (1st edition) and 2025 (2nd edition), the Vilseck City Theatre presented historical plays with a Vilseck connection in the courtyard of Dagestein Castle — written by Gerda Stauner and directed by Bernhard Neumann. The Castle Festival quickly established itself as a cultural summer highlight in the Amberg-Sulzbach district.
In 2025, too, several performances were held in the castle courtyard, to which the 3rd edition in 2026 with the EILLES play builds upon.
