Burgfest zu Lichtenberg — Edition 2025

The 2025 edition of the Burgfest once again confirmed its position as one of Upper Franconia's most important medieval festivals. In the shadow of the real castle ruins, music groups, jugglers, and knights entertained the complex — visitors came from all over the Frankenwald, the Saale valley, and across the state borders into Saxony and Thuringia.

The concept of the Burgfreunde Lichtenberg e.V. remains consistent: authentic castle setting, professional music groups, juggler performances, market with mead and honey wine, clear incentives for visitors in medieval attire. Such festivals are an important pillar in the preservation of the castle complex, whose maintenance would hardly be possible without the voluntary efforts of the association.
