Overview
The 28th Burgfest at the Kemenate Orlamünde in 2025 attracted families from the Saale-Holzland-Kreis. On an August Sunday, the area around the historic Kemenate transformed into a small medieval festival with music, jesters, a knight's camp, and a craft market. The Orlamünder Burgverein used the day to collect donations for the maintenance of the site.
The 2025 edition continued the decades-old tradition. Market music, jesters, knightly show fights, and a craft market characterized the day. Families with children took advantage of the archery station and face painting, while adults purchased mead and leather goods at the market. The one-day format — Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm — proved once again to be the ideal format for a family festival in the Saale valley. Donation income flowed into the maintenance of the Kemenate.
