Edition 2025 — Burgenfest Bad Berneck
The Burgenfest Bad Berneck 2025, like in previous years, was held as a biennial major event in May on the Schlossberg. The Historical Sites Association transformed the castle ruins into a medieval stage with encampment groups, theatre, combat demonstrations, and a fire show. Bad Berneck once again attracted numerous visitors from Upper Franconia, the Fichtelgebirge, and the Franconian Forest.
The 2025 edition confirmed the proven recipe for success of the Burgenfest: an extraordinary setting, historically sound programme, and a dedicated team that prepares all events with great care. The theatre performance in the natural arena of the Hohenberneck castle ruin was one of the highlights, as was the evening fire show against the silhouette of the Schlossberg.
Donations for the ongoing masonry maintenance of the three ruins were collected again. The event remains one of the unique cultural highlights in the Fichtelgebirge's event calendar.
