Overview
On September 5, 2025, the 8th Bremen Literary Night took place. The festival started at 3:30 PM with the opening in the Wall-Saal of the Central Library and ended around 10 PM. Numerous bookstores and libraries in nine districts and in Bremerhaven opened their doors on Friday afternoon and evening.
A total of 20 venues — bookstores, libraries, and a publishing house — participated in the 2025 edition. Bremen-based authors read from short stories, poems, and crime stories, making it tangible how rich the city is in writers and owner-managed bookstores. Admission to all events was free; the readings were financed, among other things, by funding from the Senator for Culture.
