Edition 2025 — Blockland Marathon
The 30th edition of the Bremen Blockland Marathon took place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, starting around midday at TURA on the Lesum. The 41-kilometer Gold Strecke led once around the Blockland marsh — upstream on the Wümme, Kuhgraben, and Kleine Wümme, returning via the Lesum. Three locks had to be navigated: one to carry around, one by self-service, and one operated by lock keepers. Touring and racing boats were scored separately; all participants received a certificate and a souvenir. The anniversary edition once again led through reed banks, meadows, and pastures on Bremen's green outskirts.
The 30th Bremen Blockland Marathon started on September 6, 2025, at TURA on the Lesum. On the 41-kilometer Gold Strecke, boats circumnavigated the Blockland marsh, a partly protected marshland with allotment gardens and forests. The tidal range determined the start time and direction; three locks had to be passed. Touring and racing boats started in separate categories, all participants received a certificate and a souvenir, and the class winners received trophies. The anniversary edition confirmed the marathon's reputation as a scenically unique touring event.
