Overview
In 2025, the Brekendorf Totengilde also held its Gildefest — on the traditional first weekend in June. Friday evening wreath-binding in the forest hut, Saturday festival parade, shooting competition, and guild ball. An unbroken tradition for over 225 years in the small community on the edge of the Hüttener Berge in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district.
The 2025 edition followed the established sequence of the guild's events. With its approximately 200 members and the unusual density of actively involved individuals, the Brekendorf Totengilde sets a standard compared to many other North German guilds. The 2025 Gildefest continued the uninterrupted tradition and laid the foundation for the 2026 edition.
