Overview
In 2025, Süderbrarup once again transformed into Schleswig-Holstein's largest rural Volksfest for six days during the last weekend of July. The Brarupmontag, featuring the horse market, Brarupfrühstück, and Brarup-Beef, once again marked the traditional highlight in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg.
The 2025 edition followed the format developed over centuries: opening on Thursday, big festival tent nights on Friday and Saturday until 3:00 AM, the horse market on Monday, and Family Day on Tuesday. Around 150,000 guests from Schleswig-Holstein and Denmark visited the market — a further confirmation of the over 430-year tradition, documented since 1593.
