Edition 2025 — Brander Kirwa
The Brand Kirwawoche 2025 took place in October with the established four-day format: Kirwa opening by the settlers on Friday, Kirwa hike by the OG Oberölbühl and Kirwa dance in the multi-purpose hall on Saturday, Sportplatzkirwa at SSV Brand on Sunday (main festival day), "Kirwa Umespüln und Stinglessen" by the Theater Group on Monday. The Brand associations once again showed how closely the village community upholds tradition.
Kirwawoche 2025 in Retrospect
The 2025 edition once again confirmed the strong association structure of Brand. Four associations (Settlers, OG Oberölbühl, SSV, Theater Group) each hosted one festival day – this role distribution has ensured program continuity and the involvement of broad segments of the Brand population for years.
Tradition Lives On
In 2025, the typical customs were consistently continued: Kirwabaum, Kirwa couples, Plärnummern, Kirwa dances. This makes the Brand Kirwa an authentic Upper Palatinate village festival, far from tourist spectacles or commercial folk festival formats.
