The 7th edition of the Bottrop Ultrarun Festival 2025 saw the premiere of the Hill Backyard format, creating a special festival atmosphere in Prosperpark. With the 24-hour run, 6-hour run, and relay competitions, the BUF remained a top destination for the German ultra scene.
The 7th edition in 2025 established the Hill Backyard format with hourly restart laps on the mining heap — a premiere that created a special festival mood. The classic 24-hour run took place in parallel, complemented by the 6-hour run and relay competitions. Organizer Adler-Langlauf Bottrop e.V. confirmed the BUF as a top event in the German ultrarunning calendar.
