Edition 2025 — Summerfest BoGa RUB

The 2025 Summer Festival at the Botanical Garden of the Ruhr University Bochum attracted thousands of families from the Ruhr area. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., a diverse program ran with guided tours, hands-on activities, plant sales, and live music — all with free admission.

As early as 2025, the Summer Festival proved to be one of the most popular family events of the summer in Bochum. The garden filled up on Sunday morning with visitors who strolled through the show houses and themed gardens, bought plants, and enjoyed the culinary offerings. The 2025 edition was also a dress rehearsal for the grand reopening of the South Africa House, announced for 2026.
