638th Bochum Maiabendfest

The 637th edition of the Bochum Maiabendfest 2025 kept the centuries-old customs alive. The Bochumer Maiabendgesellschaft 1388 e.V. organized the four-day festival week with a concert and theater evening, the traditional oak excavation in Harpen, the Grand Parade back to the city center, and the family-friendly Children's Day on Sunday. With over 637 years of documented history, the festival is among Germany's oldest urban festival traditions and shapes Bochum's identity like almost no other event.
