Transition Year 2025
During the ongoing restoration work on the Blankenhagen village church, the parish held a reduced summer program in 2025. Services were held to a limited extent in the church interior, and the community festival was smaller than usual. Work on the masonry, roof, and interior fittings was to be largely completed in 2025 to pave the way for the big summer festival in 2026.
The medieval fieldstone church from 1318, with its historic Schnitger organ in the gallery, is one of the most important cultural-historical buildings in the Rostocker Heide region. The festival date in 2026 marks the symbolic completion of this restoration cycle.
