The 2025 Biikebrennen on Sylt followed the traditional format: nine Biike bonfires island-wide, lit by the volunteer fire brigades, speeches in German and Sölring, followed by a kale meal in Sylt's restaurants. A St. Peter's Eve where islanders and guests celebrated the UNESCO tradition together.

2025 Edition

The 2025 Biikebrennen confirmed Sylt's diverse locations. Each island municipality maintains its own version of the custom – language, sequence of dishes, time of lighting. A UNESCO tradition that appears not as a show, but as a lived custom.

Programme

Island-wide Biike bonfires on St. Peter's Eve with speeches in German and Sölring, followed by a kale meal in the restaurants.
