Overview
In 2025, the Bezirksfest Ost took place as usual over a weekend in September. The City of Gelsenkirchen organized the festival together with the district council and participating clubs. It is one of five parallel district festivals in the city — each of the five district councils organizes its own festival in an allotment garden complex.
The focus in 2025 was again on a family program and nature themes — hands-on stations, taster sessions, live music. The concept has proven itself over the years as a district identity builder and brings together citizens from all districts for a shared encounter in nature.
