Overview

The 36th Berlin Fairy Tale Days took place in November 2025 under the motto “The Swan Maiden – About Overcoming Obstacles.” For three weeks, MÄRCHENLAND e.V. offered hundreds of events across the city: storytelling evenings, musical fairy tales, school and kindergarten programs, readings, workshops, and theater performances.

36th Edition – “The Swan Maiden”

The 36th Berlin Fairy Tale Days in 2025 focused on the motif of the Swan Maiden – a narrative archetype found in numerous fairy tales and myths worldwide. The festival interpreted this figure as a story about overcoming obstacles and breaking free from assigned roles.

Program Reach

As in 2026, hundreds of individual events were spread across the city – in schools, kindergartens, libraries, theaters, and cultural centers. The events were partly free of charge, partly organized with a small participation fee.
