Bergstadtfest 2025

The Bergstadtfest Freiberg 2025 drew around 160,000 visitors to the historic old town of the Silver Town on the last weekend of June. Over four days, several stages, a medieval market, the wine village, and the family park filled the squares around Obermarkt. The mining parade on Sunday with about 750 participants in miner's uniforms, followed by the Miners' Church Service, formed the emotional highlight.

In 2025, the city once again showcased itself as the guardian of mining tradition, which has been integral to Freiberg's identity since 1168 and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site "Montanregion Erzgebirge" (Ore Mountains Mining Region).
