Overview
2025 was the major preparation year for Bergneustadt for its 725th city anniversary in 2026. The festival committee, supported by the city, clubs, and many volunteers, planned the extensive program of the festival week, grand parade, concerts, medieval market, and the 48th Neustadt Meeting in Europe. Preceding events like Bergneustadt's marksmen's festivals and city festivals took place as usual in 2025 — the actual city anniversary highlight follows from May 13th to 17th, 2026.
The preparation for the festival week began several years in advance. In 2025, the program was finalized, artists were booked (Dr. Motte, Queen tribute band), the 54 parade groups from 8 countries were invited, and the 48th Neustadt Meeting was coordinated. Bergneustadt's club life did not have a direct festival week connection in 2025, but was focused on preparations.
