Edition 2025 — Bergmannsfest Lehesten
The Bergmannsfest Lehesten 2025 took place traditionally on the first weekend of July. Three days of folk festival (Volksfest) in the slate mining town with a parade in miners' regalia, slate extraction demonstrations, carousels, and a festival tent. Lehesten's slate tradition was visibly preserved.
Lehesten 2025
In July 2025, Lehesten once again opened its Bergmannsfest. Parade, demonstrations, guild market (Zunftmarkt) with glassblowers from Lauscha and blacksmiths from Wurzbach, festival grounds with carousels and a festival tent with live music by regional bands — the mix that has characterized the Bergmannsfest in the slate mining town for decades. The Rennsteig above the town offered many visitors additional hiking opportunities.
