Overview

The 2025 Bergkirchweih am Haidstein took place on the traditional date on the first Sunday after the patronal feast day of Saint Ulrich (July 4th). Festival service at the pilgrimage church, hike from the valley up, cozy morning pint at the Haidsteiner Hütte – the proven mix of mountain pilgrimage and rural festival in the Bavarian Forest.

The 2025 edition followed the proven tradition. Pilgrims and hikers ascended from the valley to the Haidstein summit in the morning, the festival service took place at St. Ulrich's pilgrimage church, followed by a morning pint at the Haidsteiner Hütte. An event that combines the religious, the hiking culture, and the social festival.

The Runding/Lederdorn-Chamerau parish community cultivates this mountain pilgrimage tradition as part of its annual festival calendar. A week after the Bergkirchweih am Haidstein, the Kirchweih of the Runding parish follows in the village itself – an interplay between mountain festival and village festival.
