On July 4 and 5, 2025, the municipality of Bentwisch celebrated its 790th birthday with the traditional village festival. FSV Bentwisch e.V. organized the festival weekend on the club grounds, together with other local clubs. Two days of festivities brought together locals and guests from the Amt Rostocker Heide for stage concerts, sports competitions, family activities, and gastronomic offerings. The town's birthday — first mentioned in 1235 — formed the symbolic framework of the festival and connected the residents of Bentwisch with the long history of their town in the Rostock district.
