Overview

In 2025, the Bavarian Brass Ensemble once again opened the concert season of Speinshart Monastery with its Easter concert on Easter Monday, April 21. The baroque monastery church of the Premonstratensian Abbey in the Upper Palatinate was filled with the sounds of trumpets, timpani, and organ, featuring works by Bach, Handel, and modern arrangements.

Easter Opening 2025

The 2025 Easter concert took place on Monday, April 21, 2025, marking the traditional start of the monastery's concert season. Bavarian Brass presented its established repertoire, including original baroque works — primarily Bach and Handel — as well as modern arrangements and original compositions by ensemble director Benjamin Sebald.

The acoustically outstanding Speinshart Monastery Church, designed by the Wessobrunn stucco school and adorned with frescoes by Bartholomäus Lutterer, once again proved to be the perfect venue for the combination of four trumpets, timpani, and organ. As in previous years, admission was free, with the audience offering donations to support the monastery's music.
