Overview

The 34th Barbarossamarkt took place in early March 2025 in Gelnhausen, following the established four-day format. Around 50,000 visitors in the old town around the Imperial Palace, approx. 120 exhibitors, Ferris wheel, and the season opener for showmen in the Rhine-Main region.

The 2025 edition followed the classic pattern that has defined the Barbarossamarkt for over three decades. Organizers: Stadtmarketing- und Gewerbeverein Gelnhausen e.V. together with the city. Opening on Friday afternoon, Saturday as the main visitor day, Sunday with shopping, and closing on Monday.

Programme

Four-day Volksfest in the old town. Fri 4 PM–11 PM, Sat 11 AM–11 PM, Sun 11 AM–10 PM (shops open 12 PM–6 PM), Mon 11 AM–8 PM. Approx. 120 exhibitors, classic showman rides with the Ferris wheel as the festival symbol.
