Overview
The 75th Sandkerwa in 2025 once again drew around 200,000 visitors to Bamberg's Sandviertel. Five days of events featuring Fischerstechen, Bamberg breweries, and a closing fireworks display characterized the festival.
In August 2025, the anniversary edition (75th) of the Sandkerwa took place. It opened on Thursday with a beer tapping ceremony at Markusplatz; until the festival's conclusion on Monday with spectacular fireworks, Bamberg breweries presented their specialties at stalls along Sandstraße.
The Fischerstechen on the Regnitz in front of Klein Venedig attracted thousands of onlookers as usual. The Sandkerwa reaffirmed its reputation as one of Germany's most atmospheric Kirchweih festivals.
